Your application will be considered on its merits. There may be additional entrance requirements for specific programmes. You are advised to apply early as competition for programmes at the AEI is intense.
Each postgraduate programme has specific minimum entry requirements which you must have in order to be considered. These pertain to your degree(s) and your proficiency in the English language.
The International Masters programme is open to applicants who hold:
International candidates must possess a minimum score in one of the standard English language tests:
TOEFL test (paper-based) – 550 or more
TOEFL test (computer based) – 230 or more
IELTS test – score of Band 5 or more
You may be required to attend additional English courses to meet the minimum standard expected at the postgraduate level.
Malay Language Requirement
All higher degree candidates are required to attend and pass the Malay Language course which is a requirement for the award of the higher degree. The objective of this course is to introduce postgraduate students to basic understanding and knowledge of the language which is the native language in this country.
Medical Care
The offer for admission to the International Masters programme is subject to medical clearance from a bona fide physician, full medical examination report which includes a chest x-ray report will entitle the student for registration for the health care services provided under the Student Health Service Scheme of the University of Malaya . As the Student Health Service Scheme only covers minor medical treatments, international students are strongly advised to purchase medical/health insurance from their home country to cover major medical expenses incurred by surgery/operations etc.
